I kept the grin on my face. "Cool, huh?" I watched her weigh her options, deciding if she could do it or not. Well, we wouldn't know until she tried. She walked up to the wall and jumped. Sure enough, the strain in her DNA that was so close to my feral genes gave her pretty much the same abilities I had. She leaped about 14 feet into the air with a single jump, grabbed the wall, and from the look on her face, was both shocked and scared. I cheered from below. "Woohoo! Atta girl!" I almost double over laughing when she hit the roof and asked if I knew she could jump like that. "Nope. Didn't have a clue until you tried it." Her laughter filled the streets, and if felt great to hear her laughing. She was having a good time, and we were only beginning to discover how close her abilities were to mine. There's no telling what all she may be capable of, being a molecular and feral-type mix. "It's great, isn't it?" I stepped back, crouched, then sprung up, latching onto the wall. I pushed off the wall and jumped through the air to the one opposite, clinging to it the same way. It's almost like a spider or bug would work, though it's my feline feral abilities that allow me to move in those ways. I continued the pattern until I reached the roof top opposite of the one Niki and I had scaled.
I ran, jumping across the gap to the next roof, and again. Instead of following Niki's pattern of jumping to lower rooftops, I dropped to the ground again. Landing on my feet, knees slightly bent to minimize the impact. "Just like a cat, always land on my feet." I grinned over to Niki. "If you can scale like that, I'm willing to bet you can come down as easy as I can. We'll definitely have to start more exercises like these. See what all feral abilities you have. And Jesse would be perfect to work with for your molecular abilities. I know he'll spar with you, just....go easy on him at first. I don't want you blowing up my friend." I smirked, so she knew I was joking. I leapt over to her with ease. "I'm glad you like it. Now you know some of why I enjoy being feral." I let my eyes glow again for a moment.
I was content to stand here, letting the false wind blow through my hair. I was even up for more play. It's not everyday I get to run around with another feral. "Yeah?" I turned to face Niki as she called my name. "Oh, sure. Do you like Chinese?" I stepped out of the bounds of the construct and punched in the code to deactivate the program. Our little city block disappeared and returned to the same containment unit it truly was. I punched another sequence, opening a channel to the lab. "Hey guys, we're gonna grab some lunch. Anyone else in?" Adam and Brennan declined, but Jesse and Emma both said they'd join us. "Help me set the table?" I asked Niki as I stood, closing the communications channel. We grabbed plates from the kitchen, and 4 pairs of chopsticks, 4 small tea cups, and the tea pot. "We usually eat over here." I lead her to the little alcove at one end of the waterway to a small table that sat low to the ground. Cushions were set up around the table, since we usually ate Japanese style. Back in the kitchen, I grabbed the 2 paper bags full of Chinese take out Brennan had brought back. "I swear 2 out of 3 meals, is either Chinese or Japanese food. It's healthier, plus the selection is great. Whoever goes out usually brings back lunch or dinner. This time it was Brennan." I started pulling white containers from the bags, placing them on the table. "Chow mein, mandrin chicken, pork fried rice, egg rolls, egg foo young, salad. Ohh, sushi!" I named off each as I pulled them out, from smell alone I could identify the contents. I sat down, poured 4 cups of tea and started digging into the sushi. "Help yourself Niki, there's plenty." Emma and Jesse came out next, each taking a seat as Emma snaked the sushi from me. "Hey, I wasn't going to eat it all." I joked, snatching the container back from her to grab one more piece.
